Eurasian Spoonbill populations in Netherlands have recovered strongly over the past decades after nearly disappearing in the 20th century.
They breed in quiet wetland areas such as the Wadden Sea and coastal marshes, where they feed by sweeping their spoon-shaped bills through shallow water.
In late summer, many Dutch spoonbills migrate south toward countries like Spain and Mauritania for the winter.
